Yoga & Holistic Therapy Weekend

Venue: The Haybergill Centre, Hayber Lane, Warcop, Appleby, Cumbria, CA16 6NP

This was our first retreat to be held at this fabulous eco-lodge in the Lake District.haybergill - front

Set in acres of woodland, this spacious lodge had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend.

The yoga space is so large and airy – with doors opening onto a quiet wooded area, so even though the weather wasn’t always on our side, the beautiful view drew the outside in, creating a perfectly peaceful place for our practice.

Maggie and her team provided us with a lovely welcoming atmosphere and delicious food, and then quietly left us to it. Undisturbed, we felt as though the whole place was our own.

On Saturday evening a fire pit was set up for us (leaving us to simply light it…easier said than done!)

Once the fire got going and we had stopped laughing, we had a lovely fireside meditation followed by toasted marshmallows and s’mores (for those of you who haven’t heard of these, they are teeth rotting but delicious, melted marshmallows sandwiched in-between two chocolate digestives!)

This place was definitely a great find for a yoga weekend – so much so, we are going back in 2016!

Here is a testimonial from a lovely participant of this weekend:

  • I had the pleasure of joining this retreat, with Elizabeth my yoga teacher organising this new venue. It was a weekend that was a delightful mix of yoga, meditation, lovely vegetarian food (I am definitely a meal-eater!) and the chance to meet interesting people. The retreat is set in idyllic surroundings and the accommodation reminded me of Little House on The Prairie, a wooden hut but extremely comfortable. The weekend was a breath of fresh air in a cluttered world–Denise McLaughlin
